Personal Goals
One of Marion's most important objectives
as an artist, has been to establish her own identity and style.
She explains, "Nadine Murat Thevenot and Berta Hesen-Minten, two leading thread artists, carved their own niche and generate wonderful creations, each in a different
way.
"It would be very easy for me, to make
copies in a similar way," clarifies Marion. "However, I respect the creativity of others. Top artists put a lot of thought and work
in their designs and I would never try
to go the same way. As soon as you
crochet well and can work independently
from patterns, any idea can be copied, if
that is your goal. That is not mine. I would never think about doing that
and I am proud I found my own unique flair."
Purpose
Marion's biggest hope is that her bearkidz™ make people happy, especially for those persons who have lost the belief that positive things will happen
in their lives.

Anna Marie Faberge
This mischevious 4-1/2" tall sprite has mischief on her mind. Even though she is always off on a new adventure that may lead to trouble, she depends on her ready smile to help save the day! Anna Marie comes with her own satin egg decorated with lavendar flowers to set off her lovely "fur" coloring and off-white crochected vest and booties.

"I hope my sweet baby bears remind such persons," states Marion, "that there is still beauty, happiness and the need to be protect others who may need
strength."
Professional Advice
Beginning artists often ask
Marion for advice to which
she invariably responds,
"Follow your inspiration.
Think outside the box.
Take baby steps. Start
with small projects, but
keep your vision. Each
time you finish a piece,
enjoy that special feeling
of accomplishment and you
will get better each time."
Changing Scene
"The bear market today has changed, " comments Marion, "Different materials are available, different designs, which have nothing in common with the old traditional bears, are available
and collected. Publications like teddy bear magazines, webzines
(online magazines) and the internet in general, give greater access to exciting new ideas/creations that can be immediately
shared with the bear world.

Matthew
Fabearge
A curious little cub, Matthew
likes to romp and play. But,
he has a soft side, too and that's when he likes to cuddle close. Matthew
has his own unique egg in which to curl up and sleep. The lid flips shut and goodbye world, Matthew is snoring
in no time flat!

Marion thinks some things never
change, "There will always be the
need in people for happiness and
positive things in life. Looking at the
friendly face of a bear, the expression
either sweet, wistful, curious, helpless,
or something else, gives you a warm
feeling. You want to pet and cuddle
the little one."
Marion sums up, " Just these facts alone
will always be enough reason for a lively bear market."
True Meaning
" I love, what I am doing," philosophizes Marion, "Nothing makes me more happy, than to sit and create."
Also a doll artist, Marion designs one
of a kind dolls from polymer clay. She
took two classes from Jack Johnston,
a well-known doll sculptor/instructor,
and believes the dolls she fashioned,
"were really nice dolls."
Marion says sometimes she is torn
between dolls and bears. When that happens, she follows the urge and forms piece of polymer clay into at least a head
of... guess what...always a baby or toddler!

Forever wanting at least "one more", Marion caught the "collecting bug"
many years ago.
According to Marion, " I have
one curio full of bears and one
full of dolls. I have old Steiffs
and also old dolls, like Hilda
and Baby Jean from Kestner
and Doll #I from Kathe Kruse."
When Marion is asked to describe
herself, she does so easily, " I am
glad to be able to say this: I feel
I am a very balanced and happy person, loving bears and dolls
and fully enjoy having finally, the
time to do the things I most love - creating pieces of art that bring
many people great joy!"
