A book can change your life and that's what happened in the 1990's when Nancy McNally found a book on miniature bear making.

"Right away, I was hooked, as I always loved miniatures and teddy bears."

From her home in Lindenhurst, New York's on Long Island, Nancy began making miniature bears.

"I was heavily influence by artists that use scissor sculpting and face shading."

She found that she was able to incorporate both techniques into her bears' tiny faces, giving them character and bringing them to life.

Her teddies are known for their child-like features.

They appeal to collectors with a fondness for cute and sweet bears with a nostalgic theme.

"I like to base my teddies on childhood activities and traditions, like trick-or-treating or going to the beach."

When Nancy began selling her bears in 2000, she mainly sold online through auction sites but now sells through online shows and through her website.

Her work has been featured in several other teddy bear magazines and she is overjoyed that some of her bears are on display at a teddy bear museum in Cheju, South Korea.

It's been nearly 20 years that Nancy has been creating her sweet little bears, adding new hobbies that enhance her creations, like painting, crocheting and making miniatures from polymer clay or building accessories.

"I like the challenge of figuring out how to make something I've never tried before."

Nancy added,"I love selling my bears online, as I can work from home and still meet people all over the world who share my interests.

My teddy bears have found homes all over the globe and I've met many wonderful artists and collectors."
