 Humphrey's Tales
December 2013

Let me introduce myself:

My name is Humphrey and I was born in 1993 in Flagstaff, Arizona USA.

Currently living in Cottonwood, AZ, with my Mom and Dad, by the way of Florida and Hawaii; don't ask!

Explained through my stories?

Maybe....

You'll just have to follow my tales each month.

Adventures with my Pal

Bean and I welcomed a special friend named Bucket who is visiting us from Australia.

He is a world traveler and who is headed back home before Christmas.

So with that in mind, we had an early Christmas party!

Any excuse to party and open presents.

Soon it was time to discover places in Arizona.

The first place I took Bucket was to Jerome, Arizona which is known as a ghost town.

Exploring the town we built an appetite. It was now lunch time and Bucket experienced his first 'haunted' hamburger.

He said the burger tasted 'ghostly,' especially the onions.

After lunch we walked into one of the Jerome stores and met a big dog named Maynard.

He is such a great dog and gave us a ride around the store.

We dodged greeting card racks, shelving units and customers.  We held on tight as he ran around.

At one point Bucket leaned back at me and told me he had no seat belt.

I comforted him by saying, "if Maynard stopped suddenly and you flew backwards I would catch you."

I did not want to discuss what would happen if he went flying forward, because I had no answer for that action!

During our walk through the town's stores Bucket encountered his first ghost.

When he moved in for a closer look the ghost's eyes moved back and forth and in a haunting voice said, "Welcome to the Mansion".

Bucket almost fainted as he pretended to be brave even though he was shaking.

Upon Bucket's near escape from the ghost, he found a bell on the counter; he punched it until his arm was sore.

No one came to his rescue because the shop owner and

I were behind curtains laughing quietly.

We finally confessed and told Bucket the ghost was a prop in the store to welcome customers.

Now, I have to be on my guard because Bucket will find some way to return the joke.

Before we left Jerome Bucket had seen so many ghosts that he qualified as a tour guide!

"Ouch, I think I am stuck in the door handle."

After we returned home we all were hungry. It was our turn to prepare dinner.

BUT - we thought a food fight seemed like more fun.

The WINNER? It was a three-way tie.

There are more places in Arizona we took Bucket so please watch for future stories and photos.

Happy New Year - See you in 2014.

Join me for another adventure next month!
