Humphrey's Tales |
November 2014 |
Let me introduce myself:
My name is Humphrey and I was born in 1993 in Flagstaff, Arizona USA.
Currently living in Cottonwood, AZ, with my Mom and Dad, by the way of Florida and Hawaii; don't ask!
Explained through my stories?
Maybe....
You'll just have to follow my tales each month.

THUNDER VALLEY RALLY |
|
Our community sponsors the Thunder Valley Rally and is an annual event located in Old Town - Cottonwood,
Arizona which brings in over 5,000 motorcycles and their riders for three day's of events and fun.
The traffic was so heavy that my driver felt the effects of the Arizona heat but
recovered once he had some water.
We did get a great parking space but I'm not
sure my driver thought it was worth it.
|
|
I finally arrived on Main Street to see more cycles than I could count.
Main Street was blocked off to traffic and it was fun to jay-walk without
getting a ticket!
|
|
|
First thing I had to stop in a store that makes art glitter to say 'hello' to my
friend Nancy.
When I first met her 'sparks flew between us OR, was it
the loose glitter flying around the store when a customer opened the door?
Neither one of us think so because we have really become good friends and
believe there is 'magic' between us.
|
Leaving the store after receiving a big hug from Nancy, my fur was so full of
glitter that I sparkled from the sunlight.
I was glowing outside and inside that I began to
strut my stuff while walking down Main Street.
Well the glitter worked and magic happened!
As I walked along the street
admiring all the Harley Davidson cycles (which the riders call a 'hog') and
feeling the excitement of the event, I noticed two girls smiling at
me and wanted to know if I needed a ride.
|
|
My heart skipped a beat. Thank you 'Fairy Godmother Nancy' for the magic glitter.
It was difficult
to say 'no thank you' but being the gentleman I am, I gave them both a big bear hug
(which I personally will remember forever) and I went on my way, after all I was on duty to cover this story
- duty comes first. |
|
There was so much activity.
Bands playing, people dancing and vendors
selling badges, pins and tattoos.
The tattoo artists refused to apply ink because I had fur, so I bought a badge and pinned it to my arm.
There was a man on the street
that tried to sell me a 'hog.' Well I was educated enough, by this time of the
day, to know this was not a 'Harley Hog' but I took a test ride anyway!
|
After a long day of shopping, jay-walking and sharing time with friends, it
was nearly time to leave.
My feet hurt, my bones were sore and suddenly 'magic'
happened again. (must be the glitter!)
I saw a vendor's tent with a pretty girl smiling at me.
She said she was
giving a free massage to bears today!
I jumped up on that table and let her
fingers do the rest.
I growled like a little contented cub.
|
|
Relaxed to the maximum, I walked back to the man who tried to sell me the
metal hog and I made an offer on a cycle my size.
He accepted and I knew I got
the best of the deal.
I am one cool dude!
I'm planning to make an appearance next year, riding to the rally on my cycle
even if I have to wear a cycle badge instead of a tattoo.
Of course, Nancy will
be my biker girl for the day.
And yes, we will bring glitter - lots of it!
