Let me introduce myself:
My name is Humphrey and I was born in 1993 in Flagstaff, Arizona USA.
Currently living in Cottonwood, AZ, with my Mom and Dad, by the way of Florida and Hawaii; don't ask!

| FAREWELL TO BUCKET |

My friend Bucket, who was visiting from Australia, wanted to spend his last
day in Arizona; driving to Sedona.
The area is known for its red rock formations,
wonderful jeep tours and shopping.
|
Bucket wanted to do something special.
We agreed on a rock climbing
adventure.
|
|
By the time I noticed that Bucket had forgotten to wear his safety rope, he was already
too far up the rocks.
So I decided to stand just below him, in case he fell, then
I could catch him.
Of course where I had to stand was right in the center of a very
large cactus with lots of sharp needles.

After rock climbing and chasing jeeps on the trail, it was lunch time.
What better place to take Bucket for lunch than to the possible 8th Wonder of
the World.
There is a McDonald's in Sedona that has the only turquoise color
arch within their fast food chain.
The 'WONDER' - WHY?

Bucket said he really had a good time and thanked me for all his special
memories and souvenirs.
Arriving back home the reality set in.
Bucket was on a schedule and needed
to leave for Australia the next day!
I put a mailing box on the table and as
soon as Bucket saw the box he started to cry.
Good-byes between friends are
hard.

It was time to leave but suddenly Bucket disappeared.
Bean and I finally found him
hiding in a cabinet.
He thought if we didn't find him, he could stay
longer.

Bean and I convinced Bucket it was OK to leave and we promised to see him
again.
We helped Bucket pack all his Arizona postcards and souvenirs, from this
trip, to share with his Mum in Australia.

My final promise to Bucket was to escort him to the Post Office to make
sure my friend Denise would stamp "special handling" on the box.
|
The "special handling" was successful as Bucket is now safely home in
Australia.
Bean and I miss Bucket and we are creating an album of his visit here to
always remember the special memories he gave to us too!
|
 NOTE: I will be flying to Tampa, Florida to report on the Bright Star Bear
Show at the Crowne Plaza Westshore on February 23, 2014.
I have earned some vacation time - so I'm
mixing business with pleasure. There will be lots of upcoming surprises; even
for me! |
